Information About the Practica - BHHS 195 and BHHS 213
Students enrolled in the Associate Degree granting curriculum are required to take BHHS
195 and BHHS 213 to meet the practica requirements.. Students seeking a certificate are
required to take one practicum course.

Ms. Pittman is the Practicum Placement Specialist who is responsible for all student practica
placements. Her office is BR-34 in the Bonnell Building. As soon as you sign up for either
BHHS 195 or BHHS 213, you need to contact Ms. Pittman to arrange for your next semester
practicum. Contact Ms. Pittman 4 to 6 weeks before the semester starts to assure an
adequate placement.

You will be required to fill in the Practicum Placement Form, which can be obtained by filling
in the on-line following instructions below.
As soon as you register for BHHS 195 or BHHS 213 you must immediately work on obtaining a
placement in a human service agency. Ms. Pittman will help you in finding an agency, and you are
required to work closely with her to assure a satisfactory placement.
You can use this on-line form to submit your preferences for your practicum placement. Fill in the
form on-line and when you finish click the "submit" button and the form will go directly back to
Ms Pittman for processing. She will follow-up by contacting you.
The Student Information Packet contains important information for each student enrolled in
a practicum course. Download this form as part of the materials required in your practicum
course. It can be downloaded in Microsoft Word by clicking on the left.
The Supervisor Evaluation Form is used by your field placement supervisor to evaluate your
work at the agency in which you were placed for the semester. It can be downloaded in
Microsoft Word by clicking on the left.
In accordance with the laws of the State of PA- you may be required to submit to clearances
(child abuse, criminal background checks, and fingerprinting) if you desire to work with a
